4/5
It’s a bit difficult to judge a band by a couple of tracks, but if 286’s independently released The View Inside is any indication of what’s to come then we’re in store for one incredible ride. This Hollywood, CA quartet have been gigging in and around their stomping ground opening for national and local acts, developing a loyal following. The 286 sound is hard driving rock ‘n’ roll in the tradition of AC/DC with the modern metal punch of Sevendust. Adam Joad’s vocal sounds like Bon Scott’s corpse, with a composed melodic death metal growl. I’m anxiously awaiting a full-length album, it’s gonna be slammin’. The certainly did no wrong with the two tracks that comprise The View Inside, both “The View Inside” and “Vow” are shoe ins for cotemporary rock radio alongside bands like HELLYEAH and Shadows Fall.
